Veterans Affairs & Rehabilitation • National Security • Americanism • Children & Youth
Across the nation and around the world, members of The American Legion abide by the preamble of our constitution, built upon four main pillars of service and advocacy: Veterans Affairs & Rehabilitation, National Security, Americanism, and Children & Youth.
Dedicated to assisting wounded service members, advocating for accredited medical care, mental health support, and assisting veterans in transitioning back to civilian life with dignity and support.
Supporting a strong national defense, a full accounting of all Prisoners of War (POW) and Missing in Action (MIA) personnel, and ensuring a high quality of life for military personnel and their families.
Promoting flag etiquette, civic responsibility, and law and order. The Legion fosters enthusiasm for public service among young people through programs such as Boys State/Girls State and the National Oratorical Contest.
Founded on the principle of "A Square Deal for Every Child," The American Legion has raised millions of dollars and volunteered countless hours to support youth programs, Scouting, scholarships, and child welfare.
