If you have served at least one day of active military duty since December 7, 1941 and were honorably discharged, or if you are currently serving on active military duty honorably, you are eligible for membership with The American Legion.
Accredited American Legion service officers are specially trained to provide expert assistance, free of charge, to veterans and their families. Your membership directly supports service officers nationwide who assist veterans in preparing claims and obtaining VA healthcare benefits.
