Marion Virginia “Ginny” Pedrick (née Lenker)
Marion Virginia “Ginny” Pedrick (née Lenker) died on Thursday, March 9th 2023. Born on September 10, 1921 in Mt. Carmel, PA, Ginny lived for 94 years in the Fairview section of Camden, NJ where she and her husband Walter raised their twin daughters. She moved to her daughter Janice’s home in Hillside, NJ in 2015 following the death of daughter Nancy. A graduate of Camden’s Woodrow Wilson High School, Ginny served in the US Navy Reserves – WAVES, from 1943 until 1946.
She achieved the rank of CSK (Chief Storekeeper) during her World War II service. She was a proud member of the American Legion Ruth Altone Post 374 in Oaklyn, NJ for over 30 years before transferring to Post 38 in Haddonfield in 2015. Ginny worked for the Defense Contract Administration Service (DCAS) as a Contract Administrator until she retired in 1982. Ginny married Walter Pedrick on October 18, 1947. They were married for 57 years until Walter died in 2005. She was an avid bowler, participating in the Fairview Seniors Bowling League into her 80s. She was a faithful member of the congregation at Christ Episcopal Church, Magnolia, NJ. Ginny was preceded in death by husband, Walter, and daughter Nancy. Remaining to cherish Ginny’s memory are daughter, Janice and her husband Paul; grandchildren, Brian Bojarski, Stephen Lapinski and his wife Marrisa, and John Lapinski and his wife Theresa; and great-grandchildren, David, Evelyn, and Adelina.
